Mario Amarino was born in Manhattan, resided in Staten Island until his move to Central New York. After obtaining his degree in Computer Science he worked for a major company in Manhattan as a Systems Designer until his recent retirement in the Spring of 2004. He was a witness to the devastation of the attacks on the World Trade Centers and upon his retirement there was a priority to remove himself from the city. Finding the farm here in Central New York was the solution and he immediately fell in love with the scenic area, and of course, the farm. He enjoys collecting vintage electronics and has a very nice display including a 1956 fully restored GE Black and White Television, several restored antique phonographs and an assortment of fully functional transistor radios.
He enjoys the horses but his love is for the canine companions.

Lisa Amarino was born in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania and resided there until the move to Central New York. Introduced to horses at the age of 16 there was an immediate fondness in owning them and the beginning of a long standing passion. The English discipline of riding has always been the direction with the inclusion of twelve years of showing Hunters and Equitation. After having three knee surgeries the rigors of riding is no longer permittable and so the attention has now turned to pleasure riding on occasion and the rescue of horses sent for slaughter. She believes that horses have played a major role in serving mankind over the centuries and as such, should be treated in the most humane manner available, the choice should be euthnasia, a death with dignity and not the choice of sending a horse to slaughter for human consumption.
Through the years of owning horses an awareness of the complete responsibility of horse ownership has become the focal point and Lisa is very active in horse rescue, particularly the need to transition thoroughbreds off the racetrack.
